In May 2026, our team participated in the Yangtze River Delta International Emergency Disaster Reduction & Rescue Expo in Shanghai. At the event, we presented our portable underwater inspection cameras, underwater monitoring systems, and our newly introduced underwater robotic products.
For BestWill, this exhibition was more than a display opportunity. It was also a valuable chance to better understand how the underwater inspection and rescue market is changing, especially in rescue-focused applications.
A Rescue-Focused Exhibition with a Different Market Profile
Compared with larger trade shows in Guangzhou and Beijing, visitor traffic at this exhibition was relatively limited. Most visitors were domestic, with overseas visitors making up only a very small portion. The overall audience was also different from what we usually see at more commercial or distribution-focused events.
A large share of the visitors came from rescue-related organizations, government-linked units, and professional emergency response fields. This immediately changed the way products were discussed at the booth. Rather than asking only about basic underwater viewing, many visitors focused on more complex operational needs.
What Visitors Asked About Most
The strongest interest at the show was not directed at our older portable underwater camera products, but at underwater robotic systems.
Many of the most engaged conversations focused on topics such as:
- underwater search and rescue work
- sonar-assisted underwater detection
- robotic arms for underwater operation
- turbid water inspection
- remote monitoring over longer distances
- more integrated underwater rescue equipment
This was one of the clearest signals we took away from the event. In rescue-related applications, market attention is moving beyond basic underwater viewing and toward more intelligent, integrated, and task-oriented equipment.
Traditional Portable Systems Still Matter
At the same time, portable underwater inspection and monitoring cameras still attracted steady interest, especially from visitors looking for practical, easy-to-operate products.
Some buyers still valued our classic systems because they are:
- portable
- simple to use
- suitable for routine underwater observation
- easier to deploy than larger robotic equipment
- more accessible in budget-sensitive situations
This reminded us that portable underwater cameras still have a clear place in the market, especially for straightforward inspection, monitoring, and early-stage visual confirmation tasks.
Market Trends We Observed
One of the most obvious trends at this exhibition was the growing demand for underwater robots equipped with mechanical arms and sonar systems.
Several visitors explained that in rescue work, clear-water camera viewing is often not enough. When visibility is poor and the water is muddy, sonar support becomes much more important. This was mentioned repeatedly and confirmed that rescue-oriented buyers are increasingly looking for systems that can perform in more difficult conditions.
We also noticed growing expectations in areas such as:
- higher-definition underwater imaging
- stronger low-light performance
- better adaptability for rescue-related projects
- sonar integration
- multi-function underwater operation
These were not isolated comments. They appeared repeatedly across different conversations and gave us a clearer picture of where the professional market is heading.
Honest Feedback on Our Current Product Line
The exhibition also gave us some direct and useful feedback about our existing products.
Our underwater robotic products drew much stronger attention than our older underwater camera models. While some visitors still appreciated the practicality of our traditional systems, there was also a clear sense that some of these products now look dated compared with newer-generation equipment shown at rescue-focused events.
This feedback was important. It confirmed that future product development cannot focus only on function. Buyers are also paying more attention to:
- more modern industrial design
- clearer product positioning
- stronger adaptation to rescue scenarios
- more advanced technical combinations such as sonar-assisted operation
For us, this is not a negative result. It is useful market feedback that helps clarify where upgrades are needed.
Exhibition Results and Team Experience
During the exhibition, we received 89 visitor contacts in total. Most visitors came from the domestic market, and the event generated a small number of direct quotation and order requests, including purchases of portable underwater camera units from both domestic and overseas visitors.
From a team perspective, the exhibition process itself went smoothly. Booth setup, reception, product explanation, and closing were all completed in an orderly way, and team coordination on site was strong throughout the event.
At the same time, we also saw areas for improvement. The booth displayed too many products, which made the presentation feel a little crowded. In the future, a more focused display strategy may work better: highlighting fewer key products on site while using banners, visuals, and digital materials to present the broader product range.
Looking Ahead
This exhibition reinforced a very clear message for us: the underwater rescue and inspection market is becoming more segmented.
Portable underwater inspection and monitoring systems still remain relevant for practical, everyday use. But at the same time, rescue-focused demand is moving toward more advanced solutions, especially in areas such as:
- underwater robotic systems
- sonar-assisted inspection
- rescue and recovery applications
- turbid water detection
- long-distance underwater operation
- project-based equipment customization
For BestWill, this means continuing to improve our portable underwater camera product line while also paying close attention to where the professional market is heading next.
We appreciate everyone who visited our booth and shared valuable insights with us during the exhibition. For us, this event was not just about displaying products — it was about learning directly from the market.
